ENUGU COMMUNITY TASKS UGWUANYI ON COMPLETION OF ADADA DAM PROJECT

????????????????????????????????????

The people of Aku community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State have requested Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to sustain his administration’s efforts in engaging the federal government towards the completion of Adada Dam federal project in the state as part of his grassroots development initiatives for the well-being of the people.

The request was contained in a communique issued at the end of a one-day thank you support and solidarity rally in honour of Governor Ugwuanyi by the community, in appreciation of his landmark achievements since the inception of his administration despite the harsh economic situation in the country which has drastically dwindled the state’s revenue inflow.

The community, operating under the umbrella of Aku Progressive Forum (APF),  appreciated the governor, who was present at the event, for “the most significant visit” he paid to the Adada Dam site within few months of assumption of office expressing optimism that such gesture would go a long way to facilitate the completion of the project for the people of the state to enjoy its inherent benefits.

The forum noted that the governor “in his characteristic transformative leadership style” has made his marks in the advancement of good governance in the state in spite of the economic woes in the country through massive roads construction across the state, prompt payment of salaries and wages to workers and pensioners, payment of 30% equity contribution for the acquisition  of 100 unit houses for Enugu State civil servants, commissioning of 15km Inter-Town Connection (ITC) 2.5MVA Injection Sub-Station which provides electricity to communities across Udi, Uzo-Uwani and Igbo-Etiti Local Government Areas, among others.

Responding, Governor Ugwuanyi thanked the people of the community for their kind gesture to appreciate his efforts so far and urged them to continue to offer special prayers for his administration to surmount the present economic challenges in the country which have drastically affected the revenue of the state due to oil price crash in the international market.

‎The event attracted some  dignitaries including  the Senator, representing Enugu North Senatorial District of the State, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, the Member, representing Igbo-Etiti/ Uzo Uwani Federal Constituency, Hon. Princess Stella Ngwu, the two State House of Assembly Members from the L.G.A, Hon. James Akadu and Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, the Transition Committee Chairman, Igbo-Etiti L.G.A, Hon.
