ENACTMENT OF LAWS TO ENSURE RAPID MEDICAL CARE FOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS CANVASSED
An elder Statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanynwu has called on the National Assembly to enact law that will ensure rapid medical care for victims of road accidents by health institutions in the country.
Chief Iwanyanwu made the call at a One-Day Public Enlightenment Lecture on Road Safety Measures organized by a non-governmental organization, the Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps in Owerri, the Imo State Capital.
According to him, the measure will complement efforts of the officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps in saving the lives of victims of road crashes in the country.
The Elder Statesman stated that there was need for enhanced selfless efforts towards saving lives of distressed Nigerians from all forms of accidents.
In his contribution, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Imo State, Mr. Joseph Aremu represented by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Everest Emmanuel described the event as timely.
Mr. Aremu who reinstated the Corps commitment to partner Private Sector initiative to drive the mandate of the Corps of saving lives, urged passengers to always caution drivers who exhibit act of irresponsibility while driving.
He also warmed motorists to always adhere to safety signs on the highways while using the road during the ember months.
