EID EL FITR SECURITY: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1,751 OPERATIVES TO ABIA & ANAMBRA STATES

The Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abia state, Mr. Usman Alfadarai, says the corps has deployed an additional 800 officers and men serving in the state to help beef up security to ensure a hitch free Eid El Fitr celebration.

Mr. Alfadarai stated this at the Command’s Headquarters in Umuahia.

He noted that the personnel were drawn from Area Commands, Divisions, Tactical Units and Special Forces to provide adequate backup to operatives in the field already carrying out routine security duties.

The NSCDC boss in the state urged his operatives to redouble their efforts in order to improve in the relative peace that is been sustained in the state

He assured that there would be increased motorized patrols round the three Senatorial zones in the state with special attention to Eid praying grounds, recreational Centers and other public places.

Similarly, NSCDC in Anambra State has deployed 951 personnel to ensure adequate security before and after the Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state.

The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Mr. Olatunde Maku, ordered the deployment of the personnel across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

He gave an Operational Order to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers, as well as Heads of Formation and tactical units, instructing them to ensure sufficient security coverage for peaceful conduct of the Sallah celebration in the state.

Mr. Maku said the command had mobilized operatives to cover all nooks and crannies of the state, which included Eid praying grounds, recreational centres and other public places.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo, in a statement said Mr Maku congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
