COVID-19: ANAMBRA STATE RECORDS 9 DEATHS

Governor Willie Obiano says the State has recorded about 53 patients who have tested positive to COVID -19 in the State. Governor Obiano stated this in a statewide broadcast to update the people on the fight against the pandemic.

He explained that a total of three hundred and two samples had been collected out of which 230 results had been released while 72 results were yet to be released by the NCDC testing center. Governor Obiano lamented that nine people had passed away,13 discharged, while 31 cases were still active.

According to him, 7 patients are in the State Protective Care Center, receiving medical attention. The Governor who explained that his administration had made adequate arrangements to contain the virus, called on the people to continue to comply with all the safety measures outlined in the Covid-19 protocol by both the World Health Organization and the Nigerian Center for Disease Control.

The Governor called on people who exhibited symptoms of the deadly disease to report their conditions early as it increased their chances of surviving the pandemic.

He reminded the people of the COVID 19 law recently assented to by him and warned that defaulters would be sanctioned.

Chief Obiano commented the healthcare workers for their doggedness in the fight against the pandemic.
