COUNTERCLAIM ON ANAMBRA ATTACK

The Chairman of a Foundation owned by the alleged prime target in the Saint Philip’s Catholic Church,Ozubulu, attack, MrJovitaChukwuemeka,has debunked the insinuations making the rounds that his Principal, Mr Aloysius Ikegwuonu is a drug baron.

MrChukwuemeka debunked the insinuations in a news conference held in Awka, Anambra State.

He claimed that MrIkegwuonu was an Estate Developer based in South Africa and had no relationship with drug related issues.

“People say that it is a drug war, people say is people he took their money, so many stories. But now, we just leave everything for police to do their work, because there are so many investigations going on, which I believe the outcome will help us to know what exactly happened.”

MrChukwuemeka however described the attack as unfortunate and satanic.

The Chairman said the people of the area were sad over the ugly development and prayed God to grant the souls of the dead, eternal rest.

MrChukwuemekawhile commiserating with the families of the victims, wished the injured quick recovery.

Meanwhile, the President, Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama has condemned  the attack.

Most Reverend Kaigama who is the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, described the act as inhuman and barbaric.
