ARMY BEGINS OPERATION GOLDEN DAWN III IN ABIA

The Nigerian Army 14 Brigade Ohaofia Abia State have commenced Operation Golden Dawn 3 to tackle insecurity and other forms of criminality in the state.

Addressing officers and men of the Brigade alongside other security agencies at the 14 Brigade step-up Headquarters, Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Governor Alex Otti represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Mr. MacDonald Uba, said that the exercise would assist greatly in flushing out criminal elements within the nooks and crannies of the state.

He urged all the officers and men that would be participating in the exercise to observe laid down rules of engagement and code of conduct to avoid any action that may infringe on the rights of the citizens as well as the host community.

Governor Otti noted that the exercise was aimed at fostering the much needed civil-Military cooperation between the military and the people of the state.

Earlier, the Brigade Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army Ohaofia, Brigadier General Nsikak Edet, reassured residents and visitors to the state of their safety during the conduct of the Exercise Golden Dawn 3.

He noted that the Nigerian Army was committed towards ensuring that the ember month and its festive traditions are celebrated in a safe and secure environment.

Radio Nigeria gathered that during the exercise, the Army would conduct free medical treatment for people, especially those from the host communities.
