ANAMBRA BOAT ACCIDENT: POLICE RECOVER THREE MORE BODIES

Marine Police of Anambra State Command has recovered bodies of the three remaining victims of the unfortunate boat accident involving movie stars.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, said two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday 11th April, 2024 while the last was washed in by the tide Friday morning, 12th April.

It said all the bodies had been deposited in hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses had been notified of the recovery.

The statement said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, had urged all water commuters to be safety conscious and avoid behaviour that might jeopardize their safety and that of others while on transit on water.

In the statement, the police chief promised to expedite investigation into the sad incident that claimed lives of five actors.

The Statement noted that the Police Commissioner also commended the Command’s Marine Unit and its Commander for dedication to duty.
