ADDRESS KILLINGS IN THE COUNTRY – ARCHBISHOP CHUKWUMA BEGS GOVERNMENT

Hundreds of Christians have marched round some major streets of Enugu metropolis to proclaim the risen Lord.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Enugu, the Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma advised Nigerians to be steadfast in their prayers for God’s intervention in the affairs of the country and their lives.

The Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma, who led adherents in the march, said the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead was the centre piece of Christian faith, salvation, hope and existence.

The Archbishop stressed the need for Christians to take advantage of the power of resurrection to conquer their challenges, fears and to renew their faith in God.

While condemning the senseless killings of Nigerians in some parts of the country, the Archbishop called on relevant government agencies to be more proactive and initiate process that would arrest the situation as well as restore the country to the path of peace and development.

The Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope but to remain committed to their prayers for socioeconomic and political transformation of the country.

Two adherents, Mr. Stanley Amanfu and Samuel Chukwuemeka Eyiuche, said the celebration of the risen of Jesus Christ had renewed their faith in God and strength to serve God.

The rally, which is an annual event of the Anglican Diocese of Enugu to celebrate Jesus Christ, featured prayers for the country and various needs of the faithful.
