ABIA STATE GOVT. PLEDGES TO RESOLVE BOUNDARY DISPUTE WITH CROSS RIVER
The Abia State Government has reiterated its commitment to protect lives and property of its citizens.
The Commissioner for Boundary and Conflict Resolution in the state, Mr. Mascot Obike made this known when he led a government team to Isu Clan in Arochukwu following a communal clash between Ihieosu Community in Arochukwu Local Government Area and Ituma in Cross River state.
Mr. Obike assured the people that the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had setup a committee that would look into the matter with a view to finding lasting solution to the issue.
The Commissioner urged them to continue to maintain the present peace that had returned in the area until the matter was resolved amicably.
Responding on behalf of the people, the traditional ruler of Isu Clan, Eze Ogbonna Eze, narrated how their community was attacked and some of their houses burnt.
He also said that five persons from the community had been reported missing as a result of the communal clash and were yet to be found.
