ABIA DAY: GOV IKPEAZU PLEDGES MORE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AMIDST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the fight to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Governor Ikpeazu made this known in Umuahia during a ceremony to mark the 29th anniversary of the creation of Abia State.
The Governor noted that the state COVID-19 Isolation Centers have recorded over 95% survival rate of patients from the pandemic. He stated that in spite of COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the globe and the country, his administration would not relent in its oars in the development of the state through provision of basic infrastructure.
The Governor commended the relationship existing between the state and the federal government as well as other donor agencies in the efforts to move the state to greater heights. He lauded the founding fathers of the state for their visions towards making Abia State great.
In a message, the Chairman Abia State Advisory Council, Chief Anagha Ezikpe, represented by Chief Chikezie Nwachukwu, while going down memory lane of the creation of the state in 1991, urged the people to always draw themselves closer to God as well as joining hands with the Governor in building a better state for all. The event featured presentation of awards to some persons who had in one way excelled in their choosen professions by making the state proud.
