Chief Andrew Nnebedum, Veteran Broadcaster Bows Out, But Not Tired

DSCN0129CHIEF ANDREW NNEBEDUM Joined radio Nigeria, Enugu in 1981 as a producer. He was a pioneer Igbo language producer of the now defunct Radio Nigeria Owerri. The Army  take over of 1984 by the general Muhammadu Buhari Administration led to a series of purge in the civil service, which affected Chief Nnebedum.

He was however, re-engaged in 1985 and recalled to the Zonal Headquarters of the Station in Enugu.

The veteran producer excelled In various production units notably in sports, which qualified him to run football commentaries during the 2010 football world cup hosted by South Africa.

He held various positions in Radio Nigeria including the head of sports and outside broadcast as well as General Manager, coal city FM 92.9, Enugu.

Chief Andrew Nnebedum would be fondly remembered by his colleagues as a “Man of Peace” and a great language presenter of the popular dialectal programme – “Ezeagu Igbudu” every Monday at 10:30am.

The “Man of Peace” will be grateful missed by colleagues and friends. He bowed out on Friday 5th August 2016 after thirty five years of meritorious service.
