A START UP PROGRAMME FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT LAUNCHED IN ANAMBRA

Anambra State Government has launched a Startup programme geared towards training and empowering about one hundred and fifty youths to become job creators.

The Commissioner for Youths and Creative Economy, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, made this known while addressing journalists in Awka.

He said the training would commence at the end of the application and selection processes.

According to him, the two weeks programme, entitled Youth

Entrepreneurship Startup would help to intimate youths on how to identify a viable business, make a good business plan, nurture,execute and sustain a good business, among others.

Mr. Mbanefo explained that the youths of the State origin would be given priority and should be between eighteen and thirty-five years.

He stated that the programme was designed in line with Governor Willie Obiano’s resolve to get the youths off the street and make them employers of labour.

Our Correspondent reports that after the training, the best business plan would be selected and funded up to the tune of five million naira which was to bed is bursed in tranches upon satisfactory execution of the agreed business implementation plan.
