Why FG hasn’t paid parastatals November salary – Finance Minister

The Federal G2016_12_22_46581overnment has explained that Parastatals which are yet to receive their salaries for November have exhausted their budgetary allocations.
There are indications that about 254 parastatals are yet to pay their workers’ salaries for November while the one of December is not even being contemplated.
But the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who spoke on the matter on Wednesday in Abuja, said that the affected agencies have exhausted their budgetary allocations.
Among the agencies is the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
He said: “All the agencies affected have exhausted their budgetary allocations and the system has shut them down,” she told State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Adeosun said that the shortfall was included in the virement recently approved by the National Assembly.
She said the Finance Ministry “only received the advice on the virement on Monday” and that it was being loaded to the system after which the agencies will get back online on the payment portal.
