NLC meets FG, Over new minimum wage today
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says it is scheduled to meet with the Federal Government today to deliberate on the new minimum wage proposal by the country’s workers.
The NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) recently proposed N56,000 as the new national minimum wage, on the account that the existing one is due for review.
The NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, told journalists in his office in Abuja on Monday that the meeting was “a right step in the right direction.”
Wabba said the palliative committee promised by the government to cushion the last fuel price increase led to the delay in inaugurating the minimum wage committee.
