NCC bags global Award for Best Practices 2016

The Nig2016_06_14_72345erian Communications Commission (NCC) at the weekend bagged the European Award for Best Practices 2016. This is coming few weeks after it was adjudged African regulator of the year.
The award ceremony which held in Brussels, Belgium was hosted by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), an affiliate of the European Union (EU), with no fewer than 63 Countries. NCC emerged the winner in Gold category in recognition of its outstanding commitment, support and results in quality management strategies.
The award is in recognition of NCC’s management style, and impact on the community that it serves and the professional way it carries out its regulatory activities thus contributing immensely to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Nigeria. Only recently, the commission contributed 0.5 percent to the country’s GDP.
The organisers referred to investors’ confidence in the Nigerian Telecommunications sector as a result of the transparent regulatory activities of the NCC.
The European Awards for Best Practices programmes takes a comprehensive look at the initiatives and strategies that business leaders implement in their companies and organisations.
