GLOBAL COMMUNITY MARKS WORLD POST DAY
The 
Universal Postal Union set aside October nine every year as world post day, the anniversary of the union.
The day aims to create and maintain a structure for the free flow of national and international mails around the world.
The Zonal Manager, Nigeria Postal Service, Enugu State Zonal Headquarters, Mr Willie Ekongsaidthe Nigeria Postal Services had been re structured to satisfy the needs of citizens.
He described the post as an insensible instrument that could enhance communication.
Mr. Ekong who appealed to government to empower postal agencies across the country with needed infrastructure urged youths to cultivate the habit of writing letters to improve on English language.
But as the world revolves around technology can the post still continue.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Information, MrAniekweOgbuagu noted that postal services could remain vital for dissemination of information if only the postal agencies were revived to compete with modern day technologies.
Some respondents were optimistic that with proper restructuring and facility upgrade, the post could remain relevant .
