CRIME Why I killed my father – Suspect
A 35-yea
r-old United Kingdom returnee, Abubakar Babalolla, yesterday gave graphic account of how he personally pulled a dagger and stabbed his father to dead.
Responding to questions from our correspondent in Lagos, Babalolo revealed that he killed his father in order to save his own life which, according to him, had been variously threatened by the parents.
He disclosed that his father had on several occasions threatened to kill him because he married a white lady who had a baby for him.
”Since I was growing up my father has been a”jazz man” and he has severally incised charms inside my body. But later the charm started having negative influence on me and I started behaving abnormally that also made me to think of doing evil always. I was abroad in UK but any time I return home I live with my parents but they never loved me,” he said.
He, however, said that he had no intention of killing his own parents but,”my desire to escape the threat of death by my parent pushed me to the act. I thought that if I didn’t kill them they would kill me because they had severally hired Area Boys to beat and torture me. My father had openly threatened to hire thugs to kill me and that was why I am always armed with jack knife.”
He further revealed that,”on that fateful day I went to greet my father and he shouted, abused and also rained curses on me. He also threatened to bring the thugs to kill me.
“I was afraid and drew out my knife and stabbed him to death. I attempted to escape and my mother shouted and I stabbed her and fled.”
