A suspected killer of a Catholic Priest arrested by the Police in Benue State
The Nigeria Police Force of Benue State Command have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of the Catholic Priest in charge of Otukpo Diocese, the late Fr John Adeyi.The state Commissioner of Police, Paul Okafor, disclosed this in Abuja.
It would be recalled that the Priest was kidnapped and after close to two months, residents of Otukpa community were last Wednesday thrown into shocks when they saw the decaying body of the kidnapped clergy.
According to the police Chief, “The situation is that when I assumed office few days ago, I tried to find out about that matter and I am impressed so far. Yesterday, we discovered those that are being suspected within the caucus of that church.
“As at yesterday, somebody has just been picked up. I want to make sure I have concrete evidence before I bring an update on the information.”
