As Nigeria marks its 59th Independence anniversary, residents of Umuahia, Abia State have commended the country for remaining an indivisible and peaceful entity despite its challenges.
The people made this known while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Umuahia on the celebration of the Independence Day.
The Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Abia State, Chief Donatus Nwakpa said that the country had achieved a lot both in human and infrastructural development which had contributed greatly in the unity and progress of the Nation.
According to Chief Nwankpa, Nigeria had written its name in gold as the giant of Africa both in human endeavor, sports, security and economic well-being of the people.
Also, the Chairman Inter-party Advisory council, IPAC South
East, Prince Emeka Okafor and a farmer, Chief Israel Amanze noted that Nigeria as a country was blessed with abundant human and mineral resources that when properly harnessed would make the country one of the highest growing economy in the world.
They stated that through peaceful co-existence the country had
achieved national development in various sectors.
As Nigerians marks 59th independence anniversary of the country, all hands should be on deck to assist President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts towards moving the country to the next level of greatness.
