ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN AUTHORS SCHEDULES INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION IN ENUGU BETWEEN OCTOBER 31 AND NOVEMBER 3

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) says it is poised to chart a national discourse on literary creativity to promote indigenous culture and good governance.
The Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors, Enugu State Chapter, Mr. Zulu Ofoelue, stated this while briefing journalists on the forthcoming International Convention of the Association to be held in Enugu.
Mr. Ofoelue, who explained that the convention would hold from October 31 – November 3, said some of the activities outlined for the event included welcome cocktails, tour of Enugu State, sight-seeing and literary picnics.
Mr. Ofoelue, while announcing that over four hundred persons have indicated interest to participate in the convention, said the event would be preceded by the State Chapter’s Convention tagged “Edemede Ekereke” (creative writing) on the October 29 and 30 at Coal City University and Godfrey Okoye University Enugu.
Also, a member of the local organising committee, Mr. Gregory Mbajiogu, noted that the hosting right for Enugu State was strongly bided and called for support and partnership from the state government.
The theme of the 2019 Convention is “Literature, Nationalism and the Poetics of Integration” and the event is expected to be declared open by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi while the keynote speaker will be Professor Egya Sule of Ibrahim Badamosi University, Niger State.
