Youths told to embrace agricultural policies of governments.

agric4Youths in the country have been urged to embrace the agricultural policies of the Federal and State governments aimed at addressing poverty and unemployment.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State gave the advice at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre local government area of the state during the opening of a three-week Orientation Course organized for Twenty Sixteen “Batch B, Stream Two” National Youths service Corps members posted to the area.

The  Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere said the NYSC Scheme had continued to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians especially among those living in the rural areas.

Governor Okorocha announced that the state government had concluded arrangements for the immediate construction of additional two hostels in the Permanent Orientation Camp to make the place more comfortable for the Corps members.

’’You will also do well to involve yourself in economic initiative of Imo State Government and help boost our rural economy through back to land policy of the rescue mission government. Also, the government has released the sum of ₦3,000 000.00 meal support.’’        

The Imo State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. James Olugbodi advised the Corps members to take the various empowerment programmes and other activities lined up for the orientation course seriously to achieve the desired objectives.

‘’A good number of training you will receive is designed to equip you with leadership qualities as well as prepare you mentally and physically in view of the challenges of the service year. I urge you to participate in all the activities.’’

One thousand, five hundred and eleven corps members took oath of allegiance administered by a high court Judge, Justice Lambert Azuama on the occasion.
