LACK OF FUND MAY STALL CORPS MEMBERS’ MOBILIZATION’

THE National Youth Service Corps,NYSC,yesterday, hinted that it may not be able to mobilise Corps members to camp this Friday, as BUHARI-CORPERSearlier arranged due largely to paucity of fund. Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier -General Sulyman Kazaure, who stated this yesterday, insisted that thousands of prospective corps members would remain in their various homes due to non-availability of fund, arising from N13 billion shortfall in the agency’s 2016 budget. Speaking at a meeting with the Senate Committee on Sports, Brigadier-General Kazaure added that the affected Corps members were those in Batch A, stream 2, earlier slated for mobilization into the 37 orientation camps across the country this Friday. He said as at yesterday, money required for the exercise was yet to be provided by the federal government, despite series of efforts made to that effect through letters over the past weeks by NYSC.
