ISMN CALLS FOR CITIZEN AND GOVERNMENT PATRONAGE OF LOCAL INDUSTRIES

Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria (ISMN) has urged various government and relevant authorities to provide favourable environment for indigenous industries to thrive.

The President of the organization Dr. Emman Oyeka gave the advice during the 2018 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Enugu.

Dr. Oyeka while welcoming the gathering commended ISMN Enugu Chapter for the hosting and enjoined other participants to see that the goals of strategists, in making business to grow, was achieved.

Delivering the AGM Conference Lecture entitled, “Strategic and National Development; What can the Education Sector Offer?” the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University represented by, Dean of Business, Kwara State University, Dr. Isa Abudulraheem stated that education was a major tool for national development.

In their separate remarks, an industrialist, Dr. Chike Obidigbo, a consultant Manufacturer, Mrs. Ijeoma Ezeasor and Professor Christian Madu while treating the imperatives of exploiting critical ingenious industries in the country, said it was pertinent for the government and the citizens to support and patronize local industries to sustain their growth.

Some participants in the conference agreed that the conference was worthwhile.

The 2018 ISMN Conference honoured a former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Musiliu Smith, with Grand Fellow Award while Honorary Fellows Award went to the Vice Chancellor University of Nigeria Nsukka, Professor Benjamin Ozumba and the Zonal Director FRCN Enugu, Mr. Ike Okere.

Over 100 persons were inducted into the organization at the event.
