INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE SOUTH EAST ZONE TO RECEIVE A FACE-LIFT .

INFASTRUCTUREThe people of South East zone are known for their entrepreneurial skills and trade but these have been grossly affected over the years due to collapse of basic infrastructure especially roads .

The deplorable state of some of the highways posed serious challenge to users who most times lose their lives and property in auto crashes or  to armed robbers who use the bad spots for their criminal activities.

But it seems succor has finally come their way as the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onuh has assured the people of the Zone that the Federal Government would not relent in its avowed commitment towards giving basic infrastructure in the area a face lift.

Dr. Onuh gave the assurance during a meeting with the leadership of South East Traditional Rulers Council at his home Town in Uburu Ohaozara Local Government area of Ebonyi State.

He emphasized that the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari was interested in the economic prosperity of the people of the South East and would do all it could to repair the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway and construct the second Niger Bridge.

“This present administration of President Mohammadu Buhari is already working to repair our roads from Onitsha to Enugu and Enugu to Port-  Harcourt and also the Niger bridge. These are projects that are very important for the economy of the South East.“

The Minister called on the people of the zone to mobilize support for President Buhari to encourage him towards efficient advancement of  their welfare and political interest.

Dr. Onuh noted that the All Progressives Congress was ready to welcome some South East Governors who  intend to defect to APC  while the party would meet to take a decision on its participation in the forthcoming Local government election in Ebonyi state.

“Those who finally decide to come into the APC, the party will welcome them.“

The Chairman, South East Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Eberechi Dike of Mgboko Ngwa Amise Autonomous Community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State explained that the visit was to interface with the Minister on some challenges facing the people of the zone.

“We are here to bless him and ask him to continue doing the good job he is doing for Nigerians.“

Six Traditional rulers from various states in the South East zone attended the meeting.
