are underway by the Federal Government to commence work on the second Niger Bridge, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has said.The minister, who gave the hint at the South-South town hall meeting held yesterday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said the project was captured in the 2016 Budget.
Alhaji Mohammed listed some of the road construction works that have now resumed as including Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Bode Sadu-Jebba road, Abuja-Lokoja road, Kano-Maiduguri road and the Loko and Oweto Bridge linking Nasarawa to Benue
This, according to him, will have a ripple effect towards creating job opportunities for many Nigerians.
“As contractors are mobilised back to the various road construction projects across the country, con-struction and ancillary workers are returning to work in droves’’, he said.
The Minister further assured that the Buhari administration is on track in redeeming its promises to Ni-gerian, particularly in the three broad campaign areas of tackling insecurity, fighting corruption and re-vamping the economy.
