Ekiti State Gov. signs N94bn 2017 budget into law

Governor Ayodel2016_12_22_27410e Fay­ose of Ekiti State has signed the state’s 2017 Appropriation Bill of N94 bil­lion into law.
The budget which the gov­ernor presented to the Ekiti State House of Assembly a few weeks ago.is N1 billion higher than the 2016 figure of N93 billion
According to the Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, the ad­ditional N1 billion was added to the capital expenditure for fiscal 2017.
At the event, Governor Fay­ose said Ekiti was among the four states of the federation where the 2017 budgets had been passed into law.
He stated that the harmo­nious relationship between the Executive and Legislature would be strengthened.
The governor commended the lawmakers and the people of the state for supporting his administration.
He said: “We are one of the four states whose budgets have been passed into law. It is a budget designed to give the best to our people. Enough copies of the budget will be printed and placed on the Internet for all to peruse,” he said.
Oluwawole, who com­mended the governor for the giant strides recorded by his administration despite the paucity of funds, promised the cooperation of the Assembly members for the governor.
