ABIA STATE TO CORPS MEMBERS: ACCEPT YOUR POSTING IN GOOD FAITH

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has enjoined corps members to always embark on some personal community development service projects that will improve on the living standard of people in their host communities.

Governor Ikpeazu represented by the permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth Development, Ugoeze Ifeyinwa Uwasomba, made this known at the NYSC Permanent orientation camp in Umunna Bende Local Government Area in a message to the official closing of the three weeks orientation course for the 2018 Batch A Corps members deployed to the state.

He enjoined corps members to accept their postings to various places of Primary assignment in good faith as it was done according to NYSC guidelines.

The Coordinator NYSC in Abia State, Mrs. Francesca Ifon, noted that the corps members during their three weeks orientation course had been taken through well designed and structured programmes of paramilitary drills, citizenship and leadership training as well as skills acquisition and entrepreneurship courses.

She appealed to corps employers not to reject corps members posted to their establishments, but to receive and treat them like members of their staff.

Figure released by the NYSC revealed that 2,392 2018 Batch A corps members participated in the closing programme of the orientation course.

Also, Corps members serving in Anambra State have been charged to see themselves as catalysts for national transformation and development.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State gave the charge at the closing of the orientation course for 2018 Batch “A” Corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Umunya.

The Governor, who described Corps members as the hope of the nation, also challenged them to utilize their intellect, resourcefulness and energy to distinguish themselves in their places of primary assignments.
