PROPERTY WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA DESTROYED BY RAINSTORM IN ABIA STATE
Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed by rainstorm in the Abia State Judiciary headquarters Umuahia.
Court halls, offices, electricity installations, trees were among items damaged by the rainstorm.
Conducting newsmen round the High Court Complex, the Chief Registrar, Abia State Judiciary, Mr. Benson Anya described the level of devastation as alarming, noting that the destruction had affected judicial activities.
Mr. Anya however expressed appreciation to God that no life was lost to the incident.
The Chief Registrar said the State judiciary had three weeks ago suffered a similar fate at the Aba Judicial Division where roof of court halls and offices were blown off.
He called on the Abia State Government to come to the aid of the State Judiciary to avert further losses.
