FMC UMUAHIA RECORDS MEDICAL FEAT IN KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

The Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical centre Umuahia, Abia State, Dr Chuku Abali says the centre has successful carried out kidney transplantation on two patients in the hospital.

Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, Dr. Abali noted that the kidney

transplantation surgical were done last week by a team of medical experts from the centre in collaboration with the University of Toledo Medical Centre, Ohio, United states of America.

He stated that the two recipients who were the patients as well as the kidney donors are now in good conditions after the surgical operations had been conducted on them.

The Chief Medical Director commended the Federal Ministry of Health and the Toledo University, Ohio, for their support to FMC Umuahia in establishing the Kidney transplantation center.

Dr Abali noted that the two kidney transplantation were done free of charge in the centre.
