NAFDAC CONFISCATES CONTRABAND GOODS IN ONITSHA
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered 30 different banned and unregistered products worth millions of Naira in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Reports from News Agency of Nigeria said a Deputy Director of NAFDAC, Mrs. Christiana Essenwa, stated this when she conducted newsmen round the uncompleted building where the contrabands were discovered.
According to the report, some of the banned products include rice, vegetable oil, tomato paste, tomato ketchup and medicated soaps.
Essenwa expressed concern that in spite of the Federal Government’s ban, some businessmen ignored the hazards the banned products pose to unsuspecting consumers.
