FLOOD WRECKS HAVOC AT KENYETTA TIMBER MARKET ENUGU
Property worth millions of naira have been swept away by flood at Enugu Timber Shade Kenyatta Market Uwani after a heavy rain that lasted many hours.
A trader at shop 2 Riverside Line, 6, Mr. Callistus Osundu, whose shade was seriously affected by the flood, lamented his losses.
Mr. Osundu however appealed to the Enugu State Government and the National Emergency Management Fund, NEMA to come to his aid to alleviate the hardship that had befallen him.
Some of the traders who spoke with Radio Nigeria including the Chairman of the market, Chief Livy Obi, expressed shock at the level of destruction and called on the government and relevant authorities to intervene.
Timbers and other materials in the shop worth about four million naira were destroyed by the flood.
