IGP SETS PANEL TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGED BRIBE FOR SPECIAL PROMOTION WITHIN POLICE FORCE
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris has set up a special panel to investigate complaints and petitions on allegations that police officers pay bribe for special promotion.
The IGP said the development followed complaints and allegations credited to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Isah Hamma Misau as stated in some newspapers.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Jimoh O. Moshood made this known in a statement.
According to the statement, the special investigation panel has upon the directive of the IGP invited Senator Misau to a meeting to explain and provide more details to assist them in conducting a very discreet investigation.
Also according to the statement, the panel is expected to submit reports to the IGP within two weeks.
