BE A CULTIST AND BE RUSTICATED – NAU VC WARNS STUDENTS

UnizikThe Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, has warned new students admitted for the 2015/2016 academic session against cultism, certificate forgery and other deviant behaviour.
The Vice Chancellor, who gave the warning at the weekend during the university’s matriculation ceremony, said the institution admitted 7000 out of the 50,000 applicants that sought for admission into the university in the academic year.
Professor Ahaneku, charged the students to abide by the rules and regulations of the school, urged them to work hard and be diligent in their studies, else they risk being thrown out of the institution.
“Students must pay their school fees as and when due to enable the university maintain the existing facilities and provide new ones, failing which the defaulting student will not be allowed to take their semester examinations,” he said.
“The students must also attend at least 75 per cent of all lectures and practical for them to be allowed into the examination halls, and examination misconduct will fetch them suspension for up to three years or even expulsion.”
“Would become one of the best 500 universities in the world, one of the best 100 universities in Africa and the best in Nigeria when I leave as the Vice Chancellor,” he added.
