Police parade fake Army officer, 29 others for a kidnap, robbery

rescueThe Police in Owerri, the Imo State capital on 16th August 2016 paraded over 30 suspects for various offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, child stealing and trafficking, to rape.
Commissioner of Police, Imo State command, Taiwo Lakanu in conducting the exercise said his men arrested a 25-year-old im­postor, one Arinze Onyeyeri who hails from Uli in Anambra State who was caught along Ukwuorji Umuaka road in Army uniform parading as an Army officer.
Chiyere Amadi, a 47-year-old lady was also paraded alongside a three-year-old girl, Uchechi, who was allegedly stolen from a restaurant at FUTO junction in Obinze.
While Chukwudi Nwoke, a member of a robbery gang who raped a victim after robbing her of valuables at her residence along Spibat in Akwakuma was also paraded.
Eze Ogbonna was paraded for the kidnap of Mrs Com­fort Chukwu at Oforola market square and many others.
The suspects were also pa­raded alongside items recovered from them ranging from arms and ammunitions, bullets, locally made pistols, army uniform, plumbing materials, cell phones and plasma television to church communion items.
CP Lakanu attributed the suc­cess recorded to the commitment of his men in crime prevention and control.
He described the officers and men of the command as ever ready to combat criminality in the state.
