POLICE KILL SIX KIDNAP SUSPECTS, RESCUE FOUR IN ABIA

An operation launched by the tactical team of the Abia State Police Command has led to the elimination of six suspected kidnappers and rescue of four of their victims.

The feat was achieved on March 14, 2025 when the team, following credible intelligence and use of technological means, stormed the kidnappers’ hideout in Osokwa, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area and engaged the gunmen in a heavy shootout.

This was contained in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Maureen Chinaka.

According to the statement, the kidnappers succumbed to the superior fire power of the tactical team, leading to their elimination.

It stated that the four male victims identified as Chimela Onwuka, Chinaza Onwukw, Isreal Ikemsinachi Ukandu, and Kingsley Ibiam were rescued unhurt.

The statement further hinted that two AK-47 rifles, six magazines and 34 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang who escaped with bullet injuries.

It quoted the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Danladi Isa, as advising residents of the state to report anyone with gunshot injuries to the nearest police station.

The statement assured the people of the resolve of the Command to nip crime and criminality in the bud and to ensure the arrest and prosecution of suspected criminals.
