MEDIA PARLEY: OTTI PLEDGES REHABILITATION OF PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRES, ENHANCED WORKERS’ WELFARE

Abia State Government says it will continue to evolve programmes and policies aimed at transforming all sectors of the state’s ecinomy

Governor Alex Otti stated this during the June Edition of the Monthly Media Parley tagged “Governor Otti
Speaks to Abians” at the Government House, Umuahia.

He explained that rehabilitation of General Hospitals across the state was in progress.

Governor Otti also expressed his administration’s determination to rehabilitate primary healthcare centers, though in batches, in order to make the health facilities operational.

According to the Governor, the present administration is remodeling public schools in line with its agenda to improve educational standard to provide a conducive learning environment.

Governor Otti said the state government placed priority on agriculture, pointing out that his administration recently sent 300 youths on mechanized agricultural training in Nassarawa state.

On security, the Governor noted government committment to the security of lives and property in the state and expressed regrets with the killing of five soldiers in Aba last month, describing the incident as unfortunate.

He gave assurance that the government would leave no stone unturned to ensure that everyone connected with the killing was apprehended.

While pledging continued enhancing welfare of Abia workers, the Governor directed the Chairman of the state Civil Service Commission and the Head of Service, Mrs. Ngozi Obioma, to urgently review and address the long overdue staff promotions, conversions, and confirmations within the State Civil Service
