NWIFURU VOWS TO UPHOLD DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES IN EBONYI

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has expressed his commitment to the sustenance and consolidation of democratic ideals and values in the state in line with the visions of the founding fathers.
In a message to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day, Governor Nwifuru said Ebonyi State under his watch would thrive under “the rule of law, freedom of speech and virile opposition, which are the beauties of Democracy.”
He assured the people of continued consolidation as the nation’s democratic governance advanced.
Governor Nwifuru noted that the people of the state would continue to honour the struggles of past leaders, who fought tirelessly to establish and sustain the democratic institutions.
He also recognized the contributions of the citizens who had worked to build a just and equitable society and assured them that their sacrifices in enthroning democratic governance would not be forgotten.
Governor Nwifuru however acknowledged the challenges faced by the people but assured that government had recommited itself to addressing them.
