OTTI ASSURES CONDUCIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ABIA

Children have been urged to always show respect and obedience to their parents and elders in the society.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia state gave the advice during the 2024 Children’s Day celebration at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

He assured the people that his administration was committed towards the welfare of children, noting that renovation of dilapidated schools and the provision of adequate libraries as well as computer laboratories in government schools had commenced in the state.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Ngozi Felix, urged parents to be committed in nurturing and protecting their children.

She pointed out that the Day served as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges facing children and to advocate intervention that would improve their lives

Highlight were matchpast by the school children and voluntary organisations as well as cultural dances by the children.
