NSCDC PARADE TWO SUSPECTED CRUDE OIL THIEVES IN ABIA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia State has arrested two suspected oil vandals.

Parading the suspects at the command’s Headquarters in Umuahia, the Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Usman Alfadarai, said the suspects were arrested at Shell Well Head 26 Owazza in Ukwa West Local Government Area of the state following an actionable Intelligence.

He noted that the arrest was made possible through a joint operation involving NSCDC, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Shell internal security operatives.

The NSCDC Commandant gave the names of the suspects as Samson Koki and Zakari Yakubu.

He called on those engaging in vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure, illegal dealings in petroleum and other criminal activities to turn a new leaf or be prepared to face the consequences of their actions.

In an interview, one of the suspects, Samson Koki from Okoloba in Delta State, said that he was introduce into the illegal business by a friend in Portharcourt.

Items allegedly recovered from the suspects included one long hose, 55 cellophane packs containing liquid products suspected to be crude oil.
