FG PROMISES IMPROVED ELECTRIC SUPPLY AS GEOMETRIC INTEGRATED POWER PLANT COMES ALIVE IN ABA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment towards provision of adequate power supply in the country.

President Tinubu stated this during the inauguration of the Aba Geometric Integrated Power Plant in Osisioma Local Government Area of the state.

President Tinubu represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, while commending the founder of the power plant project Professor Barth Nnaji for establishing the project, also urged Governor Alex otti to keep up with good works he is doing in the state, especially in the provision of adequate infrastructure.

Earlier in a remark, Governor Otti noted that through the establishment of the integrated power plant in Aba and its environs, residents of the area would for the first time witness an uninterrupted power supply.

Also, the Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, assured the people that plans were underway to end estimated billings been witnessed by electricity consumers, stating that meters would soon be made available to consumers.

In an address, the Chairman Geometric Integrated Power plant Aba, Professor Barth Nnaji, while describing the project as a child of necessity, which started in 2004, applauded the federal and state governments for their supports towards the actualization of the project.

The Aba Geometric Integrated Power Plant is expected to generate 188 Megawatts of Electricity to the nine local government areas of Abia South Senatorial Zone of the state
