ABIA STATE GOVT TO MODERNIZE EZIOKWU MARKET

Abia State Government is to remodel the Eziukwu Market, Aba to the standard of a modern market.
Governor Alex Otti announced this when he paid an on the spot assessment visit to the market to ascertain the extent of damage caused by a recent fire outbreak there.
Having assessed the damage, the Governor directed relevant government authorities to commence work on how to modernize the market.
According to the Governor, many of the shops are in deplorable state and needed some modernization and renovations.
He sympathized with victims of the fire and promised to assist them to overcome their plight.
The Governor, however, charged the traders to be more cautious to avert further fire disasters in the market, and expressed regret that similar incident occurred recently at the Ngwa Road Market.
