HOODLUMS KILL POLICEMAN IN EBONYI

Suspected hoodlums have shot dead an operative of the Ebonyi State Police Command at Ngbo-Effium Road in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Joshua Ukandu, explained that the operative and his colleagues were on patrol when the suspected hoodlums operating with an ash coloured Toyota Sienna with an unknown registration number opened fire on them.
According to the statement, the operatives returned fire and in the ensuing gun duel, one of the operatives was fatally wounded while another sustained gun shot wound and was rushed to the hospital.
The statement added that a tactical team was deployed to track down the hoodlums.
