EBONYI STATE GOVT SETS UP WHITE PAPER IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE ON EFFIUM/EZZA-EFFUIM CRISIS

Ebonyi State Government has set up an Implementation Committee For a white paper on the lingering war between Ezza Effium and Effium Communities in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
This was one of the activities that took place at the State Executive Council meeting held at Government House Abakaliki.
Briefing journalists, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Jude Okpor, explained that the Implementation Committee is headed by the Attorney General of the state, Dr. Ben Odo.
He said the Committee had a directive to ensure that recommendations contained in the report submitted by a Peace Committee set up to investigate the communal crisis were implemented.
Mr. Okpor pointed out that the report was presented to the Governor by the Secretary of the Peace Committee, the Reverend Father Charles Otu on behalf of the Committee’s Chairman, Emeritus Bishop Michael Okoro.
The Information Commissioner added that another report on Isinkwo and Abomege communal crisis submitted by the Chairman, Ezeogo Ewa Elechi, was also received by the state executive council.
Recall that the Peace Committees were set up on 13th July, 2023 by the State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru.
