BE AGENTS OF CHANGE — OTTI TELLS YOUTH CORP MEMBERS

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has in its 50 years of existence grown to be an effective vehicle for national integration.
Governor Otti stated in a message to the opening of the Orientation course for the 2023 Batch C Stream II corps members deployed to Abia State at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Umunna, Bende Loca Government Area.
The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Chief Nwaobilor Ananaba, noted that the scheme had continued to focus on youth mobilization in the achievement of national and state goals.
He urged them to be veritable agents of change and actively drive the implementation of service and humility, which are the motto of NYSC.
The Director General NYSC, Brigadier General Yushua Ahmed in a message, pointed out that the scheme would continue to inculcate discipline in youths and instill in them the spirit of patriotic and loyal service to the nation.
He urged them to always remain discipline, hard working and obedient to the rules and regulations of the camp.
In a remark, the Abia State Co-ordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Ufuoma Dick, said that the orientation programme was aimed at harnessing the skills, creativity and innovation of corps members for national development and progress of both the urban and rural communities.
1,698 corps members are participating in the three weeks orientation programme.
