FRSC TRAINS PARAMEDICS & PATROL OPERATIVES IN ENUGU

REPORTER: EZINWANNE OKWUOLISA

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has restated commitment to rescuing crash victims and creating safer roads in the country.

The Corps Marshal, FRSC, Mr. Dauda Biu, stated this in a message to a capacity building programme for FRSC Paramedics and Patrol Operatives from the South East and South South zones, held in Enugu.

The Corps Marshal, who was represented by an Assistant Corps Marshal in the Corps, Mr. Isaac Ocheja, maintained that the paramedics and Patrol Operatives had over the years been instrumental in saving countless lives and reducing road crashes.

Mr. Biu explained that the training would enhance the capabilities of FRSC personnel in crash scene management and administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which he said were fundamental skills essential in the swift and effective response to crashes.

In an interview, the FRSC Project implementation officer, Mr. Clement Oladele, said the Corps was sensitive in selecting officers for the training, as thirty five percent of the trainees were female officers.

Mr. Oladele explained that the participants were drawn from the South East and South South states.

About 100 FRSC personnel participated in the training.
