GUNMEN ATTACK EBONYI COMMUNITY, SET VEHICLES, OTHERS ABLAZE
AMECHI ODO
Gunmen suspected to be factional members of a separatist group enforcing illegal sit at home order have attacked Ezzamgbo Junction in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Though no life was lost during the incident, investigations, however, revealed that the gunmen set ablaze three vehicles, one tricycle and four motorcycles.
According to an eyewitness, they operated with a sienna mini van and shot in the air using AK47 rifles as people fled the scene.
The incident was not the first time in Ebonyi State as they carried out a similar attack in Isieke some months ago.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident but emphasised that operatives were on the trail of the perpetrators.
