EASTER: GOV SOLUDO CALLS FOR MODEST CELEBRATION, REMEMBRANCE OF LESS PRIVILEGED

REPORTER: BEN ILECHUKWU

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called on Nigerians to use the period of Easter festivity to show love and affection to one another.

The Governor, in his Easter message, notes that Easter celebration calls for self introspection and a renewed commitment towards enthroning a better society where love, tolerance, forgiveness, peace and unity will continue to reign.

He reiterates that Easter is an important event in the Christendom, “as Christ, by his sacrificial death and resurrection redeemed mankind and strengthened the faith of men in everlasting life.”

While noting that it is a season of discipline and sacrifice, the Governor encourages the people to celebrate with modesty and to remember the less-privileged in the society.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo urges the people to imbibe the virtues of forbearance, forgiveness, kindness, humility, love, peace and patience as demonstrated by Jesus Christ in offering Himself for cruxifixion.

The statement also solicits the support of the people of Anambra State towards actualizing the lofty vision of Governor Soludo’s administration to build a liveable and prosperous homeland for all.
