ASSEMBLY ELECTION: GOV UZODIMMA COMMENDS IMO VOTERS

REPORTER: CHUKWUKA AGUKWE

Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, says his government will continue to educate and encourage people to participate in government programmes by coming out to vote in an election process.

He stated this in Ozuh Ward Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State after casting his ballot for the State House of Assembly Election.

Governor Uzodimma explained that through election and voting, new leaders acceptable to people would emerge for the progress of the state.

He gave kudos to the electorate for understanding the digital process of the voting unlike the previous election that was characterized by poor use of the machines.

One of the voters at the polling unit, who simply gave his name as Fedinand, explained that the process was hitch free and organized, especially the early arrival of the electoral materials and INEC officials.

Our crew who passed from Owerri through Mbaitoli and Oru West Local Government Areas before arriving at Oru East, also observed low turnout of voters at various polling units seen along the road.
