IMO GRASSROOTS SPORTS: PROF. UZOMA ORGANISES FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT IN ISU LGA, TASKS YOUTHS ON SKILLS ACQUISITION

A sports enthusiast, Professor Protus Uzoma, has challenged youths in the country, especially the people of Orlu Zone to acquire skills and avoid act capable of causing damage to lives and property in the society.

Professor Uzoma gave the advice at a football tournament organized for youths of Isu Local Government Area to develop their talents in football and other sporting activities.

According to Prof. Uzoma, the tournament, tagged “Isu Unity Cup” was not only to discover talents, but to divert the attention of the youths away from unwholesome activities.

Sixteen autonomous communities participated in the tournament with Umundugba winning Oboroekwe one goal to nothing at the soccer competition.

Radio Nigeria gathered that, apart from the victorious team, all the other participating autonomous Communities received consolation prices from Processor Uzoma Foundation for Justice and Equity.

The high points of the event were presentations of trophy to the winning Community, Umundugba, and a brand new motorcycle to the best player of the tournament.
