YULETIDE: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1,931 PERSONNEL IN ANAMBRA

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State has deployed 1,931 of its personnel for Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo, said the personnel were drawn from all the units of the Corps.
The statement explained that the deployment was in expectation of high volume of activities during the celebrations.
It noted that the Command, under the leadership of Mr. Chukwudi Chikere, had assured the people of the State of the readiness of the men to perform their statutory responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens, alongside all the critical national assets and infrastructure in the state during the celebrations.
According to the statement, the Command has put in place adequate security measures in collaboration with sister security agencies and all critical stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration of the feasts.
The statement pointed out that operations of the personnel would cut across churches, recreational centres, motorparks, markets and flashpoints.
It said personnel deployed for this critical assignment were under strict instruction of the State Commandant to be civil but firm in the discharge of their duties.
